Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV) is the fourth independent GTA game published by Rockstar Games and developed by Rockstar North.
Issues
GTA IV has stopped working error
The steam version of GTA IV displays a windows error dialog when trying to play the game. The issue lies with the Windows Live ID sign-in assistant being disabled.
Solution
Simply re-enable the Windows Live ID sign-in assistant service to fix this problem.
- Click on Start
- Type in services.msc
- Scroll down till you see Windows Live ID sign-in assistant
- Right click on it
- Click Properties
- Change the Startup type to Auto
- Click Start
- Click OK
- Start GTA IV
